As one of the wettest places on earth with the highest tropical rainforest, Kauai is famous for its Na Pali coast sea cliffs, expansive Hanalei bay, Waimea “mini grand canyon” and it’s sunny south shore. You’ll count yourself lucky on a pristine clear day in this tropical paradise.


The island of Kauai has two distinct areas dominated by visitors on the Northeast and South shorelines: Princeville/Hanlei and Poipu respectively. The main street retail on the island is in between the two in Kapaa, which also has some more moderately priced visitor accommodations. Lihue is considered “town” to local residents.
