Welcome to Hawaii

“The Big Island”

The Big Island’s diverse range of microclimates from lava fields to snow-capped mountains with world class astronomical observatories, lush rainforests and world class scuba diving, this island has something for everyone and enough space to have a beach to yourself for the day.

The island of Hawai’i is also called “The Big Island” because it has the largest land mass of all the islands in the archipelago. The island has two distinct sides; Kona and Hilo. Kona is known for its resorts, sunny beaches and arid climate. Hilo is known for is heavy resident base, agriculture, heavy rainfall and closer access to Volcano national park. Despite a long commute, many residents live in Hilo and commute to Kona for work in the visitor industry. The Kohala Coast is north of Kona and is home to some of Hawaii’s most elegant ocean front resorts. Kona is a mix of visitors and residents with Ali’i Drive as the primary tourist street in the market.
